In my experience the AK-47 is not a reliable as the legends make it and the M-16 is not as trouble prone. I'm more familiar with the M-16 (or AR-15), the M-16 has much better ergonomics, is more accurate, but caliber wise I'd rather have the 7.62x39 than the 5.56.<br /><br />An M-16 in .300 BLK would give the best of both worlds.Response by SSG Tom Pike made Nov 26 at 2018 12:01 PM2018-11-26T12:01:58-05:002018-11-26T12:01:58-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member4160912<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I love'm bothResponse by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 26 at 2018 7:59 PM2018-11-26T19:59:46-05:002018-11-26T19:59:46-05:00MAJ Ron Peery4163897<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have both. To be precise, I have a semi-auto version of the AK-74 in 5.45x39 and a Bushmaster XM15 in 6.8 SPC. I like them both, for different reasons. Frankly, my favorite shooter is a 1898 Springfield Krag 30-40 that a previous owner sporterized. On the battlefield, I like accuracy, so the AKs I have known did not pass muster. That said, if your issued weapon is black on ammo, or has a failure, there's always going to be more lying on the ground, and one shouldn't be too picky. Just grab one and get back in the game.Response by MAJ Ron Peery made Nov 27 at 2018 9:13 PM2018-11-27T21:13:16-05:002018-11-27T21:13:16-05:00SFC Mark Klaers4164761<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>AKs are fun and all, but I'll stick with my M-16.Response by SFC Mark Klaers made Nov 28 at 2018 6:29 AM2018-11-28T06:29:32-05:002018-11-28T06:29:32-05:002018-11-25T20:22:38-05:00
