Living at home, a senior in High School, Went active 2 months after my 18th birthday in 1974.

I was living at home, had just graduated from High School in June of 1966. I was also a Cadet in Civil Air Patrol which is the official Auxiliary of the US Air Force. I also made extra money by being a Golf caddy at a local Country club. In August of 1966 I was in Basic training at Lackland AFB, TX

LOL! Great Question! I turned 18 and was looking for a Future and someone was offering me a "Dream" "Working with more Radio's than I could Imagine" and a Clearance Higher than I could Imagine. "God Access". What is Not to like about that? That Navy Engineman was not lying either. Now 2nd Enlistment was even Better Project Classic Wizard (Electrical Intelligence/Space Technology) Zeto Pt Adak, AK. April Fools Day 1980, With CTOC Karen Bueling, She Still refers to it as our Anniversary!

Senior year in high school, went into Delayed Entry Program a month after my 18th birthday. Was working summers and weekends in a dead end warehouse job.
My first enlistment sent me to Diego Garcia, Panama and the Philippines. So it was an outstanding decision on my part!

I was living in Massachusetts in 2002 when I first enlisted. I was a line cook at a family-run restaurant for eight years prior to my enlistment. I cook as a hobby these days...something to fall back on once my time is up in the military SSG Shavonde Chase

I was in Houston Texas and I was a killer, yes a paid killer, an assassin of the common American cockroach! Being an exterminator in Houston, Texas was extreme. I was State licensed to start my own business as my boss was not in a position to start another office due to his cocaine habit and his dad spending all the profits for retirement boats, condos and campers.

i was living at home working at the time was a great job. I enlisted early 91 and was going to boot camp in Sep 91 then it was pushed back to Mar 92

I was working for $.75 per hour as a warehouse stock room person. I was living where I did during high school and enlisted in Set of the year I graduated.

I was living in a small town in North Texas when I entered the delayed enlistment program in 1996. I arrived at Lackland AFB on 25 June 1997 to start basic training straight out of high school. My flight to basic training was the first time I had ever flown on an airplane. Thank you for the walk down memory lane SSG Shavonde Chase. I will be starting my terminal leave in May and then be officially retired 1 July 2017 after 20 amazing years.

Living at home. Just graduated from HS in June, enlisted in August. Could hardly wait to get to the recruiting station once I had made up my mind. Also realizing I was basically unemployable with a HS degree, and I had no interest in going to college also helped incentivize me. My mother would not have me hanging around the house unemployed or not going to school full time.
