I've located information for applying for a 6 month contract to go with a research group down to Antarctica, but I am coming up empty handed trying to find anything related to cooking/assistant-manager positions in either Combat Zones, or Embassies. I was once told that an Army WO stationed in Wisconsin was the main person that did the hiring for some of those positions, but I never got a name and the person that informed is no longer recruiting out of Wisconsin. (I didn't have his name either, only met him once a a Call of Duty release event) any help or information would be greatly appreciated.Where to look for finding Military or Government contract jobs after service2015-10-26T19:38:16-04:00Sgt Brian Watzig1067793

I served 8 years in the Marines and went back to school and will be finishing soon.
I am almost finished with my Culinary Arts Degree (Chef) and I'm starting to look for a job, ideally I am looking at either an Embassy Position, or a Combat Zone Position. You can be a food service supervisor or you can became a Correctional Officer. I would recommend the Officer. It takes about an entire year or longer to get through the hiring process, but well worth it. There are 34 prisons across the State of Califonia and about 45 fire camps, and numerous admin offices. The upward mobility is unlimited, especially for military personnel. As an Officer, they pay you to go through the 3 month academy. You can also take advantage of your GI Bill for the first two years as you will be on the Apprenticeship Program. There is plenty of overtime if you want it. If you work 10 minutes overtime, we pay you. If you are in the Reserves or NG, we give you the time off to attend your drills, and we pay your salary while you are drilling, and the military pays you as well. It is too good to pass up. This job offers a great retirement, you will not get a retirement from a contract job. If you want to make more than a $100,000 a year, you can, just work the OT. If you do not like where you get stationed, you can transfer. Good luck and feel free to contact me anytime. Of yeah, the application and all info is online.Response by 1SG David Lopez made Oct 26 at 2015 7:52 PM2015-10-26T19:52:20-04:002015-10-26T19:52:20-04:002015-10-26T19:38:16-04:00
