Where is your favorite beach? What is your favorite thing to do on the beach?

I am on my way out to find a beach tent that I might connect to the bed of my truck the next time I go to the beach. Then, I thought this might be a great question to post. The attached picture is found on this link: http://www.volusia.org/services/public-protection/beach-safety/

The north Gulf of Mexico shores are the best in the U.S. in my opinion, CPT Private RallyPoint Member. More particularly, I like the Destin/San Destin, FL area, especially those areas along highway 30A, which are a little bit east of San Destin proper. LTC Paul Labrador

When I was a kid, the favorite beaches for my family and I were Redondo and Huntington Beaches in SoCal.

My favorite beach was Daytona. Being an east coast beach, there was enough waves that you could body board, you were allowed to drive/cruise on the beach, and back in the day, was the hotspot for spring break.

I grew up near Port Orange FL just about 3 miles from the beach commonly known as Daytona Beach. As a kid, I loved to surf and body surf. As a teenager, we were frequently at the beach at night, usually near Ponce Inlet, to party with our friends. Sometimes, we'd just cruise up and down the beach watching girls and helping Yankee tourists (for a small fee) to pull their cars out of the sand. Many of us couldn't wait to leave for 'greener pastures' once we graduated high school. I left earlier...moving to Pennsylvania in 1971 to live with my Dad during my senior year of high school. It wasn't until many years later, after traveling with the USAF for 20 years and then driving a truck all over the lower 48 and Canada after I retired, that I came to the realization that I had grown up in paradise--and never even knew it.
