Where do you guys sit on the reversal of mask policies?

My local post just issued a 180 in regard to mask policy. Fully vaccinated no longer need them indoors or out. Where as, yesterday if you didn't have a damn good reason for being outside you are better off avoiding it.

I'm not poking at the military here. I think this is politically driven. I am a proponent of masks. In general I've never been less sick in a very long time. There was an impact, now, I don't think it was rational to shut down the world economy and break world economic supply chains over CV-19, but someone did, and now they don't.

My point here being, if it was so important to halt the world economy, and break world economic supply chains why are things turning so quickly to toss mask policies.

The reality is, "fully vaccinated or not" (with the exception of say a military post forcing you show your card) there isn't an ability to actually validate those walking around without masks are in compliance AND the card itself would be an incredibly easy forge.

** Herd Immunity
Herd immunity, or community immunity, is when a large part of the population of an area is immune to a specific disease. If enough people are resistant to the cause of a disease, such as a virus or bacteria, it has nowhere to go.

While not every single individual may be immune, the group as a whole has protection. This is because there are fewer high-risk people overall. The infection rates drop, and the disease peters out.

1) Having already been infected with Covid (a 2 day mild flu like symptom that did not need a sick day, just WFH) I am in the first group. Same with my wife and son.

2) Living in Florida we have not had a state level mask mandate for months and months and months. As of a few days ago all emergency provisions were rescinded by a Governor's EO and the State passed it as law starting July 1st. Individual companies *may* insist on mask wearing but most have already dropped even that.

3) I never bought into the FEAR mongering and instead followed the science and what was NOT being spouted by the MSMs.

4) Between the 33 million who have tested positive, an estimated 30-50 million that never got tested and the 100 million who are now immunized we are at 50% which *may* be a tipping point for herd immunity. Depends on which medical site you go to. Some have it as high as a possible 60% or even 70%.

6) My personal opinion - masks have been a placebo effect for far too many people. You are in that rare group that benefited overall so may make sense for you moving into the future. For my wife and I, we've been just as healthy this last year as any average year.

Masks do next to nothing in protecting you, they are to prevent you from infecting others if you yourself become infected. Because of this, if you're vaccinated there is no reason to wear a mask. Now, as far as policy goes, it's all political theater. The data to support what I've written above has been known for months, so anyone or any organization that mandates masks in spite of the data can presumably only be doing it for political purposes since there are none scientific.

If you are vaccinated or already had it, you are immune. I had the vaccine so I don't wear a mask anymore
