I want to train my soldiers with more visual aids than the ones that I have and then get hands on while conducting patrolling an route clearance.

The Army Center for lessons learned website would be a good place to look but I pose a few questions. All training should be nested with Army doctrine. Do you have a task number with what your training? If not you should go to the central army registry website on the army training Network and do a search for what you are trying to train. The Army is pulling away from coin and we are trying to train on large scale operations. If you are trying to train on a generic task using a dated PowerPoint you may be trending on something that we have done in the past that we may not do in the future.

After Vietnam, the Army sent me to a short school for CBR as I became the Company CBR NCO. CBR was then and I suspect now a very boring topic. I used to get my visual aids from Playboy Magazine to keep the interest of the men in My Company. True.

Get out in the field area and train. If you have someone or know anyone who has deployed to afghan or Iraq, could be very useful. You use to be able to go to a warehouse and sign out dummy aids if still around hit them up. Everything you could ever need is right there
