Where can I find information on the U.S. Army policy on Transgender service?

I'm writing a paper on transgender service and the Army's policy on that. Where can I find accurate info about it?

I love The Human Rights Campaign but for trans numbers your best bet will be The National Center for Transgender Equality (NTCE). Other resources include he Palm Center and the Transgender Law Center.

Just ask any Transgender. They will know everything there is about Transgender Army Policy and what publications to look at.

The SECDEF issued a memo dated 28Jul15 that brought discharge authority for transgender up to the Assistant Secratary Level for approval. AR 40-501, look at 3-35 first.

Current policy can be found in AR 40-501. 2-27n and 3-35 specifically. It should be noted that this policy is currently under review and will likely be removed in the next 6 months.

As far as I'm aware it is still underdevelopment. I'm in the Marines and no one knows. I'm tracking that we should get word by May 2016.
