Where can I find information about becoming an OC? Would that be a good broadening assignment?

Does anyone have information on becoming an OC? Trying to go to Fort Polk as an OC or are there better places? Any information would be appreciated.

It is a good broadening assignment. You just contact your branch manager and request an OC position. Of course, your acceptance is based on when you're eligible to move and your evaluations, and your KD time being complete

Not just OC, but make sure you talk to branch about an OC position in an AC/RC unit! Broadening AND interesting, instead of the boring "same ol, same ol" you'll get at one of the major TC's.

OC/T is an awesome experience, talk with your branch, request, go from there. The OC/T is not based in fort polk but you could go TDY there at times

AC/RC is a really good spot also to check out with your Branch or marketplace options when you are available to PCS

Polk, Irwin, JMTC at Hoenfelds in Germany. Reach out to the Ops Group team you could be slotted in. At NTC they have Mech and Dismount OCs. I believe JRTC had OCs on jump status.
