Where can I find guidance on wearing the Army Service Uniform as an officer with Air Force ribbons and unit awards?

I am a prior service Airman who commissions in the Army in May. Although I have read in AR 600-8-22 sec 5-2 that I am authorized to wear my previously earned awards (with the exception of two), I am uncertain of how it would look in an Army uniform. Also, I have individual awards with a gold border which means they were earned in a combat zone, so they are worn on the left. Gold borders in the Army means that they are unit awards and worn on the right. My questions are:

1. Are the gold border (individual) awards I earned still worn on the left?
2. Are the unit awards I have authorized, even though they don't have the gold borders?
3. Or is it best if I just do not wear my ribbons?

SFC Private RallyPoint Member have you run into this? I looked into the regs and can't find an answer to his individual awards with gold border and if they can be placed on his uniform.

The individual awards would all go on the left and the unit awards on the right. As long as the unit award is a recognized federal award you should be able to wear it.

I received three AF Outstanding Unit Awards which did not have the laurel border. Once I left the Air Force Base, I only wore the awards once outside of my official photo. That time, I spent more time explaining either why I had an AF award or why the AF forgot the “wreath” around the medal.

I *think* the only thing most airmen can't wear in the Army are their badge, I forget the term, that identifies their job with the exception of a few such as space or flight wings.

Rackbuilder will answer your questions. Sometimes it can get weird with specific awards and ribbons and that's where the builder programs make it simple.

All awards authorized by any military service can generally be worn, regardless of branch. There may be a few exceptions for uncommon ones. My Army enlisted awards and medals followed me through my officer years and noted on every DD-214 from every branch I was in
