Can you not afford a laptop or do you just not know what kind to get? GySgt Wayne A. If you are looking for a typing program, try and find "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing". It worked for me in the 8th grade (though, that was a long time ago) TSgt David Holman Wed, 20 May 2015 20:33:31 -0400 2015-05-20T20:33:31-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 19 at 2017 12:55 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/where-can-i-find-a-place-to-learn-proper-keyboard-typing-i-don-t-have-a-home-computer?n=2354174&urlhash=2354174 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You could buy a refurbished laptop from Amazon for &lt;$100. I went to a Christian Brothers high school. They had a way of categorizing student according to some factor that I was never sure of. The classes ranged from A thru F, with A being the most difficult, college prep level of classes. One benefit of being in this level is that I had to take Latin for 4 years - sure got a lot of real life benefit out of that one. But, in that high school there were very few electives available In my senior year I had taken every class possible and was for to choose something to fill one period of the day. The choices were very limited, as such, there were only two one semester classes left that had not yet taken, one was mechanical drawing (turned out to be very helpful in my MOS) and typing (there were no electric typewriters available on a regular basis in those days) which has served my very well during my entire life. I know this is too late to assist with this question but community colleges often offer free keyboarding classes which are usual short term, like 6 week courses. That would be less expensive than going out and buying a laptop. In our modern electronically dominated world, I think everyone should own a computer, a laptop is always my preference. That was all a helluva lot more than 2 cents worth. PVT Mark Brown Fri, 18 Aug 2017 13:12:31 -0400 2017-08-18T13:12:31-04:00 2015-05-20T19:15:42-04:00
