I'd say there are more women in the MOS than other Engineering formations, I believe closer to 25% is what I've heard.
My teaching partner is on leave this week, but I can ask for some details if there is more you'd like to know or if a 12C doesn't pop up on here and give you the most up to date info. 2LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 19 Mar 2018 18:18:45 -0400 2018-03-19T18:18:45-04:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 20 at 2018 10:17 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/where-can-12cs-be-stationed-are-there-a-lot-of-women-in-this-mos-is-there-a-chance-of-going-to-japan?n=3463786&urlhash=3463786

I am currently a 12C. I am stationed in Ft. Bliss in a BEB ( Brigade Engineer Battalion). We have a type of bridge that you do no learn in AIT. If you get stationed in a BEB like Bliss, which my understanding is that all Infantry Battalions have them, you will NOT do your bridging job. I crosstrained as a 12N (horizontal engeneer) and deployed as a 12B (Combat Engeneer). All we did was route clearance. There is only 3 of us 12C in this Battalion, and we are all males. If you really want to do your job as a 12C there is only like 3 bases that are bridging battalions, one of them being Ft. Leonarwood. If you have another option, don't choose it, there is room for promotion or "career progression" because the qualifications are easy to obtain, but you won't come out with any skulls if you ever decide to get out.
I am reclassing, I used this MOS to get my foot in the door.
Good luck, let me know if you have any more questions. The only bases we could get stationed were Fort Knox, Fort Bliss, Fort Polk, Fort Leonardwood, and Fort Hood. Japan was not an option for us. Though we went to Korea frequently also to Africa. When I was at fort Knox we always did our job cause we were the biggest bridging company and audio the only open water live firing range. Which is why we constantly had seals training with us to teach evasive boat maneuvers. I loved it. Yes there are a lot of females in this mos CPL David Montoya Sun, 15 Apr 2018 13:50:08 -0400 2018-04-15T13:50:08-04:00 Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made May 13 at 2018 3:32 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/where-can-12cs-be-stationed-are-there-a-lot-of-women-in-this-mos-is-there-a-chance-of-going-to-japan?n=3624699&urlhash=3624699

This is what it looks like for EABs: 502nd MRBC (Fort Knox), 74th MRBC (Fort Hood), 50th MRBC (Fort Leonard Wood), 814th MRBC (Korea). BEBs tend to have a bridging section as well, but I don't know much about how those work, because I was in an MRBC when I was enlisted.
