Where are all my friends? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/where-are-all-my-friends

Hind sight is 20/20, but there has to be an easier way for me to find people I served with. I would have organized a way for us to stay in touch had I realized the difficulty in wanting to track them down 27 years later. I've tried another website to no avail and it's extremely hard to find them on Facebook with limited info or if they even put the information you have into their profile somewhere. Does anyone have techniques that work well for them? You can search in the search bar at the top of the screen. And if you remember your friends' names, type those in. It works well. I've found former colleagues and friends here on RallyPoint. Nobody for 2 years and then 3 or 4 all at once. Groups on Facebook, for example I joined "CH-47 Hookers" and met several people who were in the same unit but I didn't know well, who led me to the people I was looking for. My only encouragement is to keep looking. I did the periodic looking on the internet for a good friend of mine. We lived in the barracks together, got a place out in town together, did almost everything together. When I separated, he married and PCS'd to Camp Pendleton. We lost track of each other, for years, almost 30. Over the last holidays I decided I would leave no stone unturned and spend whatever time it took to find him. I didn't find him, I found his obituary.

I was able to reach out to his son (I found his name in the obituary) and found out he killed himself, gunshot to the head. Alcoholism, divorce, depression, no one to talk to about things. I felt pretty bad hearing all of that and couldn't help but think had I looked harder and found him before this I might have made a difference. A friendly voice some one to talk to etc. Cpl Jeff N. I'm not sure if I can really blame them, there is not a whole lot I can do so I guess I can understand why I am no longer included. I also use Google +, kik. You can try peekyou.Com and shocking as it may sound the white pages online have helped me find friends. Spokeo.Com could also be a starting point. Hope this helps.
