When you were deployed, were you a gym rat or chow hound? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/when-you-were-deployed-were-you-a-gym-rat-or-chow-hound

I've only deployed once and when I did I performed convoy security. When not on mission I was fortunate to have a fair amount of free time. Even on mission when we arrived at a FOB we had little to do unlike the 88Ms we escorted. That left me with the option of coming home weighing 300lbs or benching 300lbs.
I went over on the heavy side, and given all the temptations to eat like an animal I manged to lose 45lbs and keep it off ever since.

So a little honesty from my brothers and sisters. Was it the gym or chow hall/KFC/Burger King/ Green Bean/ and so on......

Sorry for those of you that deployed before all the amenities were added. In those days though, weight was not a problem at all, so I could have eaten food, food, and more food ... and probably still been good to go.
