This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."<br /> If we want change we have to pray for the ones we elected...whether or not you voted for them they are in that position (God doesn't make mistakes) and need all the help and guidance we can ask for. Additionally, if we want our nation to be healed we also have to humble ourselves as it states in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." We have to pray...God hears us if we are sincere in our hearts and he will honor that. We may not get the answer the human side of us is seeking but God will answer the prayer for His glory and not ours. Prayer is a powerful tool...as my old pastor used to say...God answers Knee mail!!! <br /> I think they need prayers for guidance, that God directs their thoughts and decisions, and that they seek His wisdom and not earthly wisdom daily and that they understand that it is ok to stand up for what is right and true from His word. I pray for our country and the kids deployed into combat. Every Sunday they are added to our Sunday school prayer list. I haven't prayed for our leaders, but I should, as they are the ones sending our kids into harms way, making tough decisions, and our future voters, that they will ba able to vote wisely. Good question. Thanks. However its rather vague - "We pray for our military service members and our military wounded - Lord hear our prayer." Not sure if I'm praying for their safety, good judgement in use of force or forgiveness. I assume its for all the above.
