Turns out he was a recipient of the Medal of Honor. At another facility, this unassuming fella, sitting in a wheelchair, missing his leg, lost it while serving in the Battle of Peleliu trying to protect his men, supposedly received the Navy Cross. I suppose my question is to point out that while we may get angry and frustrated with the services and staff at the VA, please realize that the veteran next to you could be one who has given something more to save his brothers or sisters while in combat so keep your frustrations pointed in the right direction.
