It's important to remember that there is a plan for my life. And while God's plan does not always sync with mine, He only does what is best for me even when I can't see how it is. So I go to His Word and remind myself of His promises. As someone once told me, Romans 8:28 is the pillow that the weary Christian lays their head on.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. Most of us have relatively small, first world issues. We all go home every night, no one is trying to kill you. You probably have almost all of your basic needs met. It is all about perspective. Many of the issues most have are self created. Bad decisions, substance abuse etc, low threshold of pain for BS etc. Cpl Jeff N. I even created a playlist for myself called Recovery with my favorite Christian songs that really hit home for me. I also love to use some essential oils. I usually use lavender to help me relax along with deep breathing if I'm all jacked up. Having a great family support system helps out a lot as well. SSgt Holden M. EXCELLENT TOPIC!

When the world closes in and I need to circle the wagons, dig in, take a stand, and set up Fort Apache.... I call upon God as I understand Him.

I step back and try to relieve myself of the pressure of direct involvement. I then pray.

Once I have called in the power of prayer I then I get in touch with my confidant. I speak with that person and try to work through the issue or share what is happening within me.

Sometimes I intuitively know what is happening and know how to proceed. In those cases, and in keeping with the shoot, move, and communicate doctrine.... I communicate. I let people know what is happening with me. I don't bottle things up or compartmentalize. I purge it and let folks know, honestly, what is happening with me. CPT Chris Loomis Wed, 23 Aug 2017 10:37:05 -0400 2017-08-23T10:37:05-04:00 2017-08-23T08:49:06-04:00
