<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>basically instead of getting PFC with 6 months TIG and 12 months TIS, you&#39;ll get PFC with 12 months TIG and TIS. So technically you will spend more time as an E2 but you&#39;re skipping E1 so you&#39;ll make more money. So if you want to look at that as a &quot;delay&quot; you could. Although if you are really high speed and impress your CoC, you can get E3 with 2 months TIG and 6 months TIS with a waiver. I came in as an E3 and made E4 BTZ in 6 months with a waiver.

Do your job, be mature then promotions will come.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As others have said, to get promoted to E-3 you need Time In Grade but you also need Time In Service. You are going in as an E-2 so realistically you will go through the entirety of your BCT and your AIT as 25Q and likely still have time to go before being in the window to get promoted to E-3. <br /><br />Don&#39;t sweat it. Keep your head down and do your best and you will be fine.
