There are pilots and aircrews in the US Army, US Navy and USMC in addition to those in the US Air Force.<br />As a consultant I worked with USAF members on many different tasks. Every USAF member I worked with was proud of their Service and was a credit to the USAF. Are you proud of being called an airman or airwoman as appropriate?<br />When somebody refers to you as an airman or airwoman do you feel proud?2015-08-22T21:08:06-04:00LTC Stephen F.911333<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>After a distinguished record in WWII the US Army Air Corps was transformed into the US Air Force. Outstanding people, great training and education, top-notch facilities and equipment have been brought together in a single purpose to create the world's premier Air Force. As you mention, every service has an air component. For them, it is an also-do...as in, we also do airpower. For the Air Force, it is our raison d'etre, our primary mission and focus. The Army rightfully prides itself on land warfare, as does the Navy in control of the sea. The Air Force is rightfully proud to have kept the skies blue (ie, not red) above our land and sea forces since its inception.Response by Col Joseph Lenertz made Aug 23 at 2015 10:32 AM2015-08-23T10:32:00-04:002015-08-23T10:32:00-04:00TSgt Melissa Post924448<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Damn straight I am. I earned my stripes...and my Airman coin. The only officers in the Air Force who have that is one who was prior enlisted. :) HUA!Response by TSgt Melissa Post made Aug 28 at 2015 11:06 AM2015-08-28T11:06:26-04:002015-08-28T11:06:26-04:002015-08-22T21:08:06-04:00
