PCSd to Huachuca early, and while waiting on my course date for MICCC I interviewed and was selected for AIT company command.

Would I still be considered an Armor officer, or MI? My detail has expired according to my ORB, but I have not attended the transition course or CCC. I will be taking a command photo and attending multiple graduations and events in dress uniform. I'm not sure which branch colors I should be wearing. There are others in my position and I've seen both, but no one has a definitive answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. When is a branch detailed officer officially awarded the control branch AOC?2020-02-11T21:43:20-05:00CPT(P) Private RallyPoint Member5548781

Disclaimer: I've looked for the regulation Nd could not find the answer explicitly listed.

I branch detailed into Armor from MI. If this is the case, you should be able to get the memo sent up with your BN commander’s signature saying you’ve been awarded the AOC because you completed PME for MI.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 11 at 2020 9:45 PM2020-02-11T21:45:56-05:002020-02-11T21:45:56-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member5548793

Not an officer sir, but I have worked with a multitude of Branch detailed MI officers and from what they have said is that if you have not graduated the CCC, then you retain the branch you initially completed BOLC with until you are able to attend the MICCC.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 11 at 2020 9:47 PM2020-02-11T21:47:17-05:002020-02-11T21:47:17-05:00CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana5552759

Wear your Armor insignia, because you cannot be detailed without CCC. It doesn’t get more legit than that.

Kidding aside, you’re still an Armor Officer until you’re not. You’re not an Armor Officer once you complete PME with another branch; in your case MIOTC/MICCC. You wear your Control Branch Insignia until you transition. I was in a similar position a couple years back.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 17 at 2020 5:58 AM2020-02-17T05:58:00-05:002020-02-17T05:58:00-05:002020-02-11T21:43:20-05:00
