When Does The Date Start For Army Active Retirement?

I enlisted into the army 27 Jan 2004, basically I signed the contract on that date. I had a report date to Korea to the reception battalion there March 19, 2004. Which date do I use to figure out my 20 years of service?

What is your BASD? BASD + 20 = retirement date. Your BASD is on your SRB

If you have not had a break in service since 2004, your PEBD and BASD should be exactly the same date. You should have 20 years of service on 27 January, 2024.

For pay purposes oath day. For retirement date active duty started

Look on your ERB and check your Basic Active Service Date (BASD). That’s it + 20 years!

Thanks for all the answers. There was a one month and several day gap that wasn't accounted for. I knew that, but my archived LES history solved that showing the missing month! So that accounts for my missing month that I knew I was missing. I didn't have to do Basic Training since I was prior service. But I didn't have any documents showing that I was at the reception battalion for about 1 month before shipping off. Like I said above, the LES history archive showed the missing month, and good to go!
