When do you think gun control laws and changes came into effect?

I ran across this article today about when gun control began. I had no idea it began in the 1800's and has continued into this century.

Most laws regarding licensing/permits originated with Democrats attempting to regulate the behavior of blacks. Marriage licenses to prevent blacks and whites marrying. Poll taxes and tests to prevent blacks from voting. Gun licensing to make sure blacks couldn't defend themselves. Basically, all licenses and permits are about government control and now extends to everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, etc. It's always about control with Democrats, isn't it?

Since Chicago has chalked up over 300 so far this year, wouldn't that be an excellent test bed for any and all ideas? It's like an abattoir on the South side.

To be honest gun control rules and regulations have been around since muskets and dueling pistols became available in the 1700s most likely SGT Private RallyPoint Member.
I don't know when firearms laws became part of the code of law. I suspect that rules or laws requiring people to leave their firearms at the edge of town, etc. began soon after or during the civil war in the western territories. So much killing had taken place in the Civil War that many were hardened. The raiders in MO and KS produced notorious groups such as the James gang and the Younger brother gangs, etc.

I think Gun Control started when people noticed that they can make money on people who own the guns.
When they couldn't control the money associated with gun owners, they now are trying to punish the gun owners for their problem by trying to take away the guns.
Hence, now due to the 2nd Amendment, they can't take away the guns, or control the gun owners, they now are trying to control the ammo figuring, "Duh, What Do I Do Now or Next."
