Control group then off to school. There's likely more to it but calling the ROTC PMS will get you the most current info. Good luck. I went Green-to-Gold. If you are asking if you have to be in a certain amount of time before applying, I do not believe so. We had a cadet who had not even finished his AIT training who was accepted. A quick google shows me there are more options than I had back in the day, so go for it. http://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/current-and-prior-service/advance-your-career/green-to-gold/faq.html

FAQ

There are many ways you can use the Army's Green to Gold program to get your college degree and become an Officer. Make sure that you set yourself ahead the rest of the unit, so you have the best chance. Speak with your chain of command and ask to speak with the BN Commander. Let him/her know that you are interested and ask for his/her guidance on what you need to do in order to get their approval. It's definitely an uphill battle so don't get discouraged. What's your MOS? The reason I ask is because you have to serve 3 months for every 1 month of AIT training on top of the minimum of 24 months unless you get a TSO (Training Service Obligation) waiver. I was able to get the waiver and was released on my 28th month. I also saved up 2 years of leave so I was able to take off 55 days before I ETSd. You'll definitely need a lot of time to navigate through the bureaucracy of the VA in getting your Post 9/11 GI bill squared away. They tried to tell me I was not eligible for it because I was discharged early and I had to argue with them and explain my DD214 which clearly had a code of KGX - Enter Officer Training Program. Because I was only in for 28 months I get 80% of the post 9/11 which pays 80% of E5 bah and 80% of my tuition but I also get more money than that and I can help you figure out all your options.

If you qualify, I would be glad to help you get to my University. It definitely helps to have someone who has already gone through the process to guide you through. 2LT Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 12 Jan 2016 12:08:55 -0500 2016-01-12T12:08:55-05:00 2015-12-03T14:19:19-05:00
