What you can tell people is that you enlisted in the Reserves but you have not shipped out for training yet. Your TIME IN SERVICE and TIME IN GRADE clock has already started ticking. I'd recommend getting to your next unit drill day (I'm guessing COVID-19 has hindered that).

You really need to get in contact with your unit. Know who your platoon SGT is, how to reach them, and how to figure out to know what your training schedule is once you are out of Basic Training and AIT.

Among my first questions with new soldiers in my unit are:
1) Are you working or going to school?
2) Do you have a car, and can you get to drill?
