On November 25th, 2018 - aboard the one and only USS Wayne E Meyer (DDG 108), I finally got the opportunity to cross into the domain of the Raging Main and have my slime and sand washed away under the authority of the Royal Court, His Majesty Neputunus Rex presiding, only after proving my worth and undergoing my trials.

ENS Private RallyPoint Member, I’ve never been aboard a ship that crossed the equator, but my father did in WWII. Here’s his story.
Ensign Jack Curlee was initiated into the SOLEMN MYSTERIES OF THE ANCIENT ORDER OF THE DEEP aboard USS LST-78 at latitude 00 deg 00' 00" and longitude "SECRET" on June 17, 1945. USS LST-78 was enroute to Biak Island from Leyte, Philippine Islands, so the longitude was near 136 degrees.
Here are photos of the actual event aboard ship in 1945: King Neptune and His Court; Emerging from Rotting Garbage; and Administering Truth Serum.
My father, one of the Greatest Generation, lived a long and full life, and passed away in 2015 at the age of 93.

USS Camden AOE-2 on WesPac 1989.
I went horse barking for flipper through a scupper opening then had yoke(egg down the pants and broken) set on my ass multiple times while riding a capstan. Of course then there's a quick game of "Wog Pong" after being awoken by the departmet's "Revile Rooster" who had to go around and wake everyone up after having been tarred and feathered with a gallon of syrup and 3 feather pillows being cut and dumped on. "Cock a doodle doooooo...I'm the revile rooster"!lol!Good times...!
