When and how often do you intentionally click on advertisement and affiliate links on a website?

Almost never. If something really catches my eye, I will go directly to the site to look at it.

Never, even when I do google searches I always drop down to the links that don't say advertisement.

Occasionally... I equate it to picking up fruit in the grocery store. That doesn't mean you're going to buy it

Very rarely; something has to really catch my eye and be in the realm of what I'm looking for. That, and when I search for something I don't click on anything that says it is an ad or sponsored if I can at all avoid it.

Not often, unless it was already something I considered buying. My 9 mo is already wearing size 18 mo clothes and I knew I needed to get him more stuff for the winter. I saw an ad that Carter's 50% off all winter clothes was ending that day so I clicked on it and bought clothes.

I don't usually see ads on websites. I use the collaborative host file from the following site to help reduce ads. Its updated occasionally and all ads are redirected to 127.0.0.1 (localhost)

I don’t intentionally click on them but every once in awhile the mouse goes nuts on its own.

Very, very rarely... even amongst the content specific targeted ads, it's incredibly unlikely that I would click on an advertisement. Most ads, especially the targeted ones, just show me stuff I want which is cool, but that doesn't mean I'm going to buy them right that second. I see them more as a casual reminder that something is in stores and available for purchase.

The select few ads I intentionally clicked were ads that went that extra mile to not only show me what I wanted, but filled me with the urgency to get more information on the product being offered.

For example, I collect books. Well one day I saw an advertisement for a rare limited printing autographed book from one of my favorite authors. I was already interested in the subject matter from the start. But the limited stock pushed me over the line from casual observer to actual consumer. So I jumped at the opportunity so I didn't miss out. My first purchase met my expectations so I made another purchase. Soon enough I became a regular customer including subscribing to their mailing list for upcoming in stock items. All because they were able to push me to click on their advertisement.

I'm curious, do you use Rally Point to do market research on the veteran community? There's nothing wrong with it if you do. I've noticed that most of your questions seem to be questions that someone researching how to sell us things might ask.

Now to answer your question, never intentionally. It is usually a miss click.

Nada! And I don't accept or advertise on my blogs! Yes I could make some money but I like the freedom, not bothering my readers, and being able to use te 'Fair USe Doctrine" when appropriate which would be forfetted if bloggin for money or charging subscribers.
