What you think of this Ben Carson interview?

Due to the name of the interviewer is very "discredited" by many from the left. So I won't post his name.

Here’s a rundown of Carson’s responses on the issues.

Warrantless NSA domestic spying

“Terrible. No, can’t do it.”

Border fence

“The right kind of fence, yes….What has worked in the past, like in Yuma County, Arizona — a double fence with asphalt so you can get rapidly from point to point.”

Fine companies that hire illegals

“Absolutely.”

Deport illegals

“If they qualify as illegals. I would give people the ability to register in a certain period of time and if they have pristine records and they are willing to work as guest workers under the circumstances that we survive, they could stay. But they don’t become citizens and they don’t vote.”

Do you continue the “war on drugs?”

“Absolutely, I intensify it.”

Climate change, is it man-made and can we do anything about it?

Well, climate always changes. It’s either going up or down. We do have a responsibility to take care of our environment. That’s the real issue.”

National standards for education

“Absolutely not. The closer education is to home, the better the education is.”

Should the U.S. remain part of the United Nations

“I do not like the United Nations and unless they change I would not participate, I would defund them.”

I think that everything any of the candidates say is mumbo jumbo. Its what the party wants to hear along with the american people. Once they are in office well that's another story. Politicians need to learn how to govern and to compromise. If they don't learn that then it will never change and the United States will become a 3rd world country because of them.

A fence is worthless. Its the policies that need to change. Look at Israel, how much time and money have they put into their fence? How many new tunnels do the find?

Until we have a real policy that is enforced, the problem will continue.

Let's assume this is for real (and I'm not saying it is or isn't). However, I'm willing to bet that just about everyone can sort through these "issues" and find at least one with which they disagree with Dr. Carson's purported responses. (I did) Will that disqualify Dr. Carson in that voter's eyes? Sadly, most Republicans lose because their base are "single issue voters". Democrats, on the other hand, have won because their base simply doesn't seem to care. Democratic candidates can hold conflicting views on multiple issues. Democrats also are single issue voters, however, in their case, they vote for the candidate when they hear the "correct" answer on that single issue. For example, if the voter is pro-abortion and the candidate voices that position, the candidate is assured the vote even if the candidate and the voter are opposed on every other issue. (Sure, there are those who will now jump on and vilify me for this assertion, but exit polls make my case for me.) To be fair, I suspect that both sides will vilify me unless I point out that I am not talking about ALL Republicans and Democrats, but only those who are true ideologues: Those whose ideology supplants common sense.

I agree with most of these positions; I have reservations about what he sees as included in "Warrantless NSA domestic spying". I see nothing wrong with collecting metadata, and I see the usefulness of it in defeating terrorists.

PO3 Private RallyPoint Member - PO; "Supporting the war on drugs" is going to get just a bit harder once Marijuana is legalized, regulated, and taxed in Canada.

I agree with Capt Seid Waddell on the "domestic spying" issue. The term is so loosely used as to be almost meaningless.

A "border fence" is simply impractical (and a real graffiti target).

Enforcing the law respecting "Green Cards" - why not?

"Climate Change" - I agree with him except that he doesn't appear to have any intention of doing anything about it.

"National Education Standards" - Again one of those fuzzy terms. If it means actual functional literacy and numeracy standards as well as elimination of proven false items from school curricula, great. If it means everyone gets to teach their own version of the truth which the students have to absorb by rote learning and come out of the "educational system" functionally illiterate, unable to do basic arithmetic, and without any problem solving skills (other than shooting the people they disagree with), sucks.

"United Nations" - The US refused to participate in the League of Nations (which was really an American idea) and look at the result. If the US refuses to participate in the United Nations (which was really an American idea), the result is likely to be similar. (Well, either that or some other country will fill the vacuum and the US will become irrelevant on the world stage.)

PO3 Private RallyPoint Member How do you deduce that Climate Change is manmade outside political considerations? Do you understand Climate? The seasonal variability or the year to year fluxes and that there is more to the story than you could imagine? Do you know the left DOES NOT want to accept opinions and will block those opinions? Did you know this contingent wants to charge the so-called 'deniers' with RICO? As a Meteorologist for over 30 years and as such seeing the variability and understand the physics, I am telling you, it is NOT primarily caused by humans?

Do you know other effects are more profound, with the moving of the tectonic plates, volcanoes and the natural variability of oceanic mixing and it's role on the atmosphere? All we get is some arbitrary number (97% of scientists) and use that and other things.

Yes, the Earth warms but consider the heat source we have working and then this 'slam dunk' mentality washes away like a mudslide. Cleaning up pollution is great but follow the money trail. Places that are supposed to be under water are not.

How about a link so we can review the interview ourselves?

Also, people saying bad things about someone doesn't necessarily mean their discredited, even if they are extremely unpopular with certain groups. If they work for a major media organization and are interviewing leading candidates for office, it's unlikely they are as "discredited" as you believe.

Mr. Carson,

1. What have we gained vs. lost in this ongoing war on drugs?
2. You mention penalizing those who hire illegals. Are you going to run with the usual "slap on the
wrist" fine while they continue using cheap labor? What are you going to do when the costs
associated with hiring American's begins hitting working class Americans in the pocket when
those companies complain about their shrinking bottom lines? They ARE going to make a profit;
and we're going to pay for it.
3. Build a wall. Seriously? Sir how has that worked so far? Build a wall, they build tunnels. You find
tunnels, they dig deeper where some ground penetrating radars don't even pick them up. Why
hasn't anyone mentioned beefing up the border patrol in manpower, technology, and equipment?
The great wall in China didn't keep anyone out BTW...
4. Quit the UN. Great Idea bro. Except we pay the most into it. The ROI isn't very high and we still
owe.
5. Here's one for ya. Israel is a sovereign country. Has it's own military, government, everything. Yet
the minute their PM says something bad about our government, it's taken as gospel. We have
"prominent" American's who bend over backwards to them as if they are our ONLY ally in the
world. Mr. Carson how are you going to let Israel know they can do whatever they want, and we
will too with the full support of ALL of our allies and not rely on the opinions of one? I don't
remember the English PM coming to a full house to talk smack unless his butt is still in the UK
doing it.

Personally I give ZERO f*cks who gets elected as long as the President remembers where he came from. He's an American pure bred, born, and raised. His loyalties lie with those in THIS nation, and the feelings of THIS nation come first and foremost, not in the twisted monologues given in speeches. He remembers and recognizes those from the brokest of broke to the richest of the rich. In regards to political afflation, both parties are chocked full of liars, thieves, convicts, and salesmen disguised as "people like us". Fix the VA, stop the religious BS that's dividing us faster than reality TV. Bring us home unless you can give the troops a real mission. Stop sequestration unless you feel it should extend to your cabinet, advisors, staff, and ALL of the congressional staffers, AND the legislators themselves. Stop with the federal rights vs. states rights. I'm so damn sick of politicians and their "double talk", lies, and innuendo's, bombastic speeches that don't amount to anything other than they got to run their gums and we were dumb enough to watch. #JUSTSAYNO2POLITICIANS #OURSANITYMATTERS
