After review, I would have to agree with SFC Merino. CWO Griffin and CWO Strother, seem to have been found, under the wheels of the big, green military bus. The Maj General Joseph L. Osterman, said the decided to abort the mission. At what point was that decision made? As stated before, I would love to hear the audio records, and see who's full of crap. I'm sure that there's a Private, polishing up somebody's 3 stars, to keep the tarnish off of them, from this!

CPO Jon Campbell Chief, that's the Daily Mail. Snowden's American-hating buddy Greenwhatever works for them. It's a hit rag, trash news. Even this story has nothing directly attributable to official sources. It's all 'investigation says'. Who? Who investigated and said? 'Reported by the Irish Times'. Sure. The Irish Times.

No, Chief, I'm not saying this did or didn't happen, but until I see it from a credible source....meh. The Daily Mail is little more than the Duffle Blog trying to be serious and convince you of their veracity.

Fair enough. How about this from Army Times: "The full report, obtained by The Associated Press late Thursday through a public records request, said the pilots were not authorized to fly in such bad weather and others failed to challenge the overconfidence of the lead pilot. The report was a joint investigation by the Louisiana National Guard and U.S. Special Operations Command..."

CPO Andy Carrillo, MS - And that's why I didn't out-right scoff from the get-go lol. AT is certainly more believable than the DM. Thanks. Frankly I'd substitute that link for the DM one. Just IMO.

As for the issue, then. About 10 years ago a Korean airliner's crash was attributed directly to the inability (or unwillingness) of the copilot to override the captain, who had made a grave error in judgement. So I think that this problem is a serious one that pilots of every type, military or not, should look at really hard, and train for: when is it ok to tell the boss to take a flying leap? In a military setting like this one, I have to believe that that's a much harder thing to do, despite the relative ease with which I say 'fuck yeah I would if I thought it was going bad!'...from my arm chair.

Sucky situation, all around.
