What would you do in the event of an EMP?

I remember a time before cellphones, computers, etc. My children, not so much.
Could you survive without electricity for a month, 6 months, a year?

It doesn't even have to be an EMP that causes it, solar flares are getting bigger, closer, more powerful.

Most of my hobbies and career goals involve technology. I'd probably have to learn to actually play an instrument. . . or I could get a personal trainer cert.

First, I would weep a little, as I do love to play some video game. But then I would sit back and watch all these youngens go frantic because they can't get onto FB, Twitter, whatever they do to ensure their zombie state. Then I would proceed to enjoy the bountiful feasts of extra food as the youngens die off and leave more food for me to pillage and horde. Then, at the end of the day, I would enjoy a nice beer (even without electricity, it is possible to have cold beer) with the peace and quiet of the world.

Actually solar flares are not getting bigger, closer or more powerful. We have more technology that is sensitive to them, but the sun follows a 11 year cycle.

I think if it actually happened society would collapse. Think "The Walking Dead" without the zombies. Yeah, i'm a pessimist....lol I'd have my guns locked and loaded.

Be Ubber Pissed Off and then looking for an R-390 Radio Receiver but damn I would be Popular. I was King of HF Comms in my Day and that would be the first thing to restore with the proper equipment.
