....I don't have a daughter but damnit if I did, I don't know what I'd do. And that's just the danger of it...I simply do not know what I would do. Of course I could be Mature and responsible/sensible and try to find out why, that's how people don't get arrested lol but who knows what would happen if I were to be put in that situation....

Does anyone else see the absurdity of all of this? So NC passes an unenforceable law. Unenforceable? Think about it. People only are permitted to use a public restroom based on the gender specified on their birth certificate. Yes, that law. How would you enforce it? A person who appears to be a woman is about to enter the women's restroom. Do you stop and ask her for her birth certificate? Does she have it? Do you carry yours to every bathroom? Step 2: Someone files a lawsuit saying this unenforceable law violates their civil rights. Okay. Let the courts decide. But before they can, the President of the United States, in his copious free time, having no other crisis to deal with, pronounces that everyone must be allowed to use whichever bathroom they choose. By what authority? Actually, he uses the authority of a thug. Follow my orders or I'll cut off all federal funding to your state. That's thugish. I has no legal basis. Now do you see the absurdity of it all?

I would go in with her and ensure her safety. IF the individual tried something then I would protect my daughter. I would not incite an incident based solely upon him entering the bathroom. I would venture to say, most wouldn't either. It looks good on social media to say that though.

If by man you mistakenly mean transgender woman I would probably allow her to go pee since that is the only thing transgender women have been doing in bathrooms for the decade that 18 states have allowed it.
If what you mean is an actual man then I would politely ask him if he had entered the wrong bathroom. I imagine he would probably say "oh I did" since statistically speaking your daughter is more likely to be assaulted by a family member, clergy member or educator than a random stranger in a public restroom. In fact instances of that are almost non existent and have never been a result of a man pretending to be transgender. So I would be much more likely to assume that he was a janitor, that he was checking on his elderly mother or young daughter or that it was an early stage trans woman who did not yet get to enjoy passing privilege than that it was a rapist pretending to be a Trans woman to pray on my daughter.
In fact I would probably be finding myself wondering how it is that a country full of sane, rational people with the whole internet at their fingertips kept drawing the conclusion that the statistically least likely thing was going to happen. It would be like not swimming in the ocean for fear of sharks or flying in a plane for fear of crashing.
Of course I'm an educated person capable of making my own decisions and capable of teaching my children love and understanding while also teaching them to be aware of their surroundings. Maybe that's odd.

Ask yourself this: do you really mean a man, or do you mean anyone who you think looks like a man? Women are being assaulted every day now because some overprotective men *think* that these women look like men. Are you really making women's bathrooms safe from men when you are the man who beats up a woman just because you *thought* she looked like a man?

Here is my question of the day. If a transgender female identifies as a male and gets pregnant, will she be recorded as the first man to give birth? If a transgender man who identifies as a female, wants to try out for the female Olympic team, can he earn the gold? Sorry, thats two questions

Will anyone take up for the tooth fairy? What about their rights? It appears, the man who self identifies as a female gave permission to the tooth fairy once the man, I mean female, crossed the line into the bathroom where the little girl was your Honor. It is also apparent your Honor that the little girl was scared by the large man looking female that came into the bathroom right behind her. This news clip is taken out of context your Honor and I move the case against the tooth fairy be dismissed. A thumbs up should be awarded to the Sgt. of Marines and the thumbs down be removed.

I believe, IF I saw a man follow my daughter into the ladies room, I would just have to kick his ass, after of course making sure that he was in fact following her, and had not made a mistake in which room he went into. Although at 16 my daughter is pretty capable of dealing with him herself. NOW, I have read some of the responses below and WITHOUT pointing at anyone...WITHOUT calling anyone names, without judging anyone, I just have to say that there is no such thing as a medical procedure that can turn a male into a female. You may have your appearance altered to resemble a female, you may look, act, and dress like a female, but as I have said before and I stand by this, IF a doctor has to Implant, cut off, insert, construct, destruct, inject, surgically alter, treat with hormones...You are NOT it. If failing to take your shots will cause you to revert, you are not it. DNA does not lie kiddies, and no amount of name calling, no amount you or anyone telling me that I am uneducated or anything else will change the fact that GENETICALLY you will always be male. Even after years of hormone therapy and cosmetic surgery, you are still a self-mutilated male with gender issues. PERIOD. I can claim to be Napoleon Freaking Bonapart, but no amount of crying, therapy or wishing upon a star will turn me into a short Corsican general. It is NOT as easy as saying "Help Me Mister Wizard, I don't Want to be a boy anymore."

So go pee where you feel comfortable, I could care less. IF you approach my daughter in a bathroom, and she feels threatened, she is liable to Pepper spray you. And, by the way, that sound that you hear as you walk around in the general society that sounds like the sound track of a 1950's SITCOM, is in fact the 99% of the population that thinks you are just a guy in drag and yes, as tacky as it is, as insensitive as it is, that sound is snickering and they are pointing at you. Most of the TG people that I know are male to female and they way, way, overpaid their doctors for the results they got.

Sgt With what I read tonight Obama's action may not come about. Several states or gearing up to sue with Texas in a lawsuit against this. Black preachers do not like the AG comparing this to the same as Jim Crow. This is very unpopular with the public and it's going to cost a lot of money with the law suits. The President had no business entering something that should be a state matter. Obama is going to do everything he can to push his liberal agenda before he is out of office. Bob Allen, a Christian Coalition GOPer in the Florida House: convicted of paying an undercover officer $20 for the privilege of giving the officer a B… in the restroom of a public park.
Jon Hinson, Mississippi GOPer in the US House, convicted of bl.. a guy in the restroom of the Library of Congress. Not his first sex offense.
Larry Craig, Idaho GOPer in the US Senate, arrested for offering sex to an undercover officer in the restroom of an airport. Pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.
Just google “Democratic sex offenders” to see allegations of improper sex against 9 Democratic politicians. And “Republican sex offenders” to see many huge lists of arrested or convicted GOP sex offenders.
And if you see an article about TG people being psych cases, look at who the source is.

They just need to start making all restrooms single occupancy. You go in lock the door behind yourself and then take care of business. Multiple Occupancy Latrines signs should be changed to PENIS on one door and Vagina on the other.

I would ask him to wait until my daughter finished or I would go in until she was done. I was a single parent with daughters and that was an issue when they were little, take them in the men's room or go in the ladies room with them. I chose bathrooms very carefully.

I go with my son to the bathroom all the time. This is not directed to any particular person whether they identify as male, female, polka-dotted, etc. I do it because I know that my son is being protected. He doesn't go to the bathroom alone, unless he's at home. I don't care if people give me strange looks or not. I understand the fear that parents have about their children using public bathrooms but the fear has always been there; even before all this blew up out of proportion.

I eliminate the fear by going with him. The same with his father; he goes with him to the bathroom. The one thing that I will argue over is the accessibility to baby changing rooms available in all bathrooms.

Gay, trans...these are not new trends. It's highly like that all of us have used a bathroom with the opposite sex before! There's no law that's going to make individuals self identify before squatting or whipping it out. Fear the real threats to our nations children, poverty, illiteracy and hunger.
