SPC David S., this is a good question because it's currently hypothetical, but I think it could soon (relatively soon) be a reality we have to confront. I voted "Fight," but I don't mean fight in the literal (violent) sense. I mean fight this movement in legal ways, through the democratic process.

There was a recent NPR story on a religious group (I think it was Jewish, but I could be wrong on that) that moved into an area and literally took over the school board so they could influence (reduce) the money going to public schools. This group bussed people to the polls and eventually literally took over the school board. I could see your hypothetical story happening in a city where something like the NPR story takes place.

Fight - as should anyone that claims to be American. As imperfect as our system is, it is ours and that's how we do things here. Want a dictatorship or communism - move to North Korea. Want Sharia Law - stay over there with your loose goats.

No on our soil. Send ALL of them to meet Allah and get their 72 one round at at time.

I would have to agree with CW5 Private RallyPoint Member, I would have to fight in the sense of the democratic process, I do not think that I would take up arms and start using weapons. That would solve nothing. But trying to get it repelled or something of that nature would be the most beneficial.

Even if the people voted to do this, it would still be unconstitutional. It is unenforceable and illegal to impose theological law on Americans. The 1st Amendment covers that quite nicely. Of course, this is a joke headline/website and I don't think this sort of thing would happen in the States. People try to impose Christian law (As they see it) much more than any Muslims are pushing for Sharia law in the United States.

The threat is real. There are more ways to fight other than physical confrontation, but Shariah law is not compatable with American cultural values. Islam is...Shariah is not.

I would fight with every ounce of my being! At that point, a full blown revolt would take place in my neck of the woods and anyone found in favor of ruling would be an enemy of my community, state and country! And for the outhouse lawyers that think I am wrong, tough!

I took an oath to defend the US Constitution. For a city in the US to "fully implement" Sharia law would be a violation of the Constitution. I would fight with everything I have. Like CW5 Private RallyPoint Member said, I would do so through legal means as much as possible. But I would not rule out anything.

I would fight. I will not be forced to change nor will I move and let other be forced to change. I am Christian. Every day I hear how wrong Christians were for forcing others to convert by using violence. Why in the world would anyone let this happen again with another religion?

My vote is based on if I were to be selected for "punishment" under Sharia. Our great Nation was founded on religious freedom and the idea that all people could be represented here. My vote would be the same if some radical group of persons who worshipped cacti were enacting a punitive law for planting palm trees instead of cacti.

I hope, hope mind you, we will find a way to co-exist with each other in harmony. If not, my swords are sharp, my ammo is in supply, and my weapons are maintained.
