John Kerry speaks for the Administration, especially in matters of foreign affairs. Thus, when he says that we should prepare ourselves to live in a world without borders, we had better listen. When we cast aside our rose-colored glasses, will we see a world without borders also without separate governments? What form of government shall it be? Will the military be necessary in such a world? If there are multiple governments, how will the people be divided among them? So many questions...

The military would ride the unicorns through fields of candy corn, of course! This is what happens when you let idiot idealist hippies come to the podium. He discards in a moment, all the thought and experience and brainpower represented in the Mayflower Compact, French revolution, Magna Carta, Articles of Confederation, the Federalist Papers, and their penultimate result - the US Constitution. The very thing he swore an oath to uphold and defend...here he is, waving it away.

Ah, more "eloquence" from John "Small Boat" Kerry...

I think this sort of empty ideology is what comes of spending too much time away from the real world, sipping cocktails on one's yacht in the Hamptons. We will never have a "borderless" world...we may have governments that decide not to defend them, due to the business interests that already ignore them...but the citizens of those former sovereign states will still view the world as "us" and "them".

First of all, he is a Moron. No offense meant to morons in general.

Human nature is to have borders. They make is feel safe and secure. Borders are all around us in our daily lives. Your yard has a border, your house has a front door (border), even the freeways have lanes which are a type of border. Borders organize things and prevent chaos. It is idiotic to suggest a world without borders and very few folks, if any, would actually do it. Its a silly notion that has no place in the real world that humans live in.

I realized that my bias against Kerry (I think he is traitor to the military and all veterans, especially Vietnam veterans) caused me to not actually answer your questions. So here are my answers to your questions.

1- Would we still need a military under the "one world" concept? Absolutely, but it would be localized.
2- If the world had no border, would we have separate governments? Yes, we still would need local government agencies to handle day to day issues.
3- What form of government shall it be? Most likely we would need individual local governments to run geographic areas. Those individual governments would have to have some police or militia (military) to protect their interests.
4-If there are multiple governments, how will the people be divided among them? Probably by geographic area.

However, the whole "one world" concept totally disregards human nature. I don't see it ever happening unless someone else (Aliens from space) attacks us to unite the world as a whole. Otherwise, our own selfish interests will always trump the "one world" concept.

I believe that what John Kerry is really referring to, is globalization.

That said, sufficient globalization will result in our borders meaning a lot less than they do today. One only has to consider today's Multinational corporations, many of which are already a law unto themselves. Now if present trends continue and we keep signing Free Trade agreements which place profits over the welfare of citizens and national sovereignty, borders will begin to mean almost nothing and the military will be busy suppressing all the people who got the short end of the stick. Any government that resists will see it's economy ruined and eventually be replaced with a government more accommodating to global business interests. We could eventually see the rise of corporate empires that resemble the Feudal lords of old, at that stage national borders completely obsolete.
