It's all about supply and demand. As with anything else, the more of it there is the less it is worth. Everyone will be a millionaire but a loaf of bread will cost $4,000....

Are we talking about the literal printing of money? Or issuing Treasury Debt? It's all about the USA's relative economic strength against other currencies. Even in a degrading world economy who's debt are you going to buy if you are an international investor? Europe, Japan, Russia, China, USA?
Ideally............ a currency will only be increased in circulation hand in hand with the growth of an economy to keep inflation in check.
The Free Market system of the USA permits it to continue to prevail against the logic of our debt consumption. There's no where else to go with your surplus funds in the international market. If China ever becomes a transparent and un-corrupt economy the USA will be in very serious trouble.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Someone would have to buy them. Who? What currency would they use to buy them? Would they trade oil to buy them? Oil is not doing so well, economies don't need energy. Everyone is on their heals. We might be complaining about our situation here in the USA about CV19, but what about China? I'm curious how China will fair after all of this. Certainly it is causing their business partners to pause.
It's all relative. Other economies need to do better than us. There was hope for the Euro, but then partners like Greece and Italy totally ruined it. They rotate the leadership of their central bank to different member countries every single year. OMG what a joke.
China???? Who trusts them enough to buy their bonds. It's one thing to buy tangible products it's another to buy debt they can default on just because they feel like it. Russia already defaulted once. Non Chinese citizens cannot buy voting interest in Chinese companies.
Bit Coin????? Well, that only works if a strong enough electronic infrastructure is in place for free trading across all users without interference from cyber criminals. An acquaintance of mine literally lost $80K of bitcoins because he was targeted with is Bit Coin trading and they kept getting to him through is CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! The offending virus would constantly get stored in his CAR!!!!! So it got started via is phone or home computer, and maybe cleaned, but it infected his CAR and would get back into the home via the wifi from the car to the phone, and the phone to the home.
At the end of the day, storage of value in paper money, electronic money, or imaginary electronic coins the FINAL END GOAL is to store that value for future consumption of tangible goods, or services.
No one ever knows when the ups and downs are coming or in what direction it will go.
I don't know what to say, but I always end these kinds of discussions with something along the lines of:
If you truly believe one direction or another deep in your heart and mind then the only thing do to is trade your assets on that belief. It's looking like gold/silver bars that you have in your personal possession is the way to go.

If they don’t print more money your dollar will be worthless. The average life expectancy of a dollar bill is something like 6 months to a year.

I worked for an Armored Car service and we did take old money to be destroyed. But, our debt is increasing due to this so called Pandemic that does not seem to be as bad as it was made out to be. So, I am concerned people will become more willing to be a ward of the State and give up their freedom of independence to make their own way.
I work in a Hospital now. The covid virus as really hurt the older population and those with underlining disease process. But, everyone else appears to be OK.
The common flu has killed 22,000 so far and we are not sounding the alarm, or MVA's which kill thousands. I just get the impression we are being fooled a bit for a larger reason/s SFC.
Thank you for your continued service to our country.
