What were the cons in your tour and some of the pros? What was your tour in recruiting like? Would you recommend it? 2019-02-04T12:05:10-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4340998 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m thinking about volunteering for Recruiting Detail. I had an awesome station commander who looked out for us and made work enjoyable. I just reclassed to return to recruiting. The 11B life was just not for me anymore after 11 years. I enjoyed going home to my family every night on recruiting. It has it&#39;s perks but everyone&#39;s experiences can differ. Here to answer any questions if you have them. That&#39;s all I can really say. I was managing somewhere around a dozen recruits, as a PFC in my state guard unit. Getting them to drill, linking up with RSP from other units... I was putting in dozens of hours every week (that I was not paid for) trying to chase high schoolers and college students down and get them to fill out paperwork. It was good for my career though, I was awarded the WNY Soldier of the Year Award, and the NYS Recruiting medal with a device. Is is stressful? You bet. But a short (successful) stint doing it looks very good in both the civilian and military realms.
