What was your take-away from the State of the Union Address?

I was impressed that Kevin McCarthy often applauded, and even gave a standing ovation, for several of Biden’s comments. However, based on Kevin’s reactions, it seems as if he is backed by Big Pharma and oil companies.

Republicans were so angry when Biden said “some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset”; it was clever the way he made them agree not to touch them.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a State of the Union Address where the opposing party applauded, sometimes giving a standing ovation, for the remarks the President has made. It happened so often that I am hopeful both parties can work together (fingers crossed).

Now that Elon Musk exposed censorship by democrats, democrats have no other choice than to cooperate.

As far as oil companies, President Biden just passed religion restricting mining in Minnesota. He basically gives all the rare earth minerals to China and other countries. Amnesty International to the story recently on all of the people worldwide who are digging up Cobalt and other rare earth metals like lithium and getting sick and dying over it.

My oil and energy stocks are the only thing that's doing well because the uncertainty and raising interest rates by this Administration is really stunting the growth rate. Just remember that we had a 5% growth rate and a 1.3% inflation rate the day that President Biden took office. Since then, we've had 13% inflation over 2 years and maybe we'll have less than a 2% growth rate if we're lucky.

Let's remember that the wind technology major components, major battery lithium other parts are processed in China because of the EPA regulations here prohibit this.

Everything goes to China.
Apple and other countries are looking at India as an alternative because China is too draconian.

President Biden may have a well-written script and may have been funny but what he has done to the US economy and put critical race theory in the military and in all government offices. Let's not forget that President Biden doesn't consider parents to be in the decision-making process when it comes to learning about alternate lifestyles, gender identity or what the kids get taught in school. He is not for parents rights.

President Biden is not a compromiser. Maybe he will be but he's saying he won't give in because he wants all of his church of the green New Deal and big government socialism to go forward and he refuses to back down even though he's meeting speaker mccarthy. 13 years ago, he was a liaison in Congress trying to get Congress to compromise with President Obama over raising the debt limit. He also voted against raising the debt limit many times as a senator but he is now a Manchurian Candidate brainwashed by the left and he's hoping to make a legacy but he doesn't realize that he's just ruining our country one executive order at a time.

If President Biden would have stayed in the basement and left all of the president Trump executive orders and laws in place, the economy would still be doing a 5% growth rate and inflation would be down.

I guess you can't fix a president who's a cross between Mr Magoo and Mr Rogers.

I foresee him being the next Richard Nixon and having his own modern day Watergate called being an unregistered foreign agent and colluding money with Hunter Biden.

If president Trump would have done everything that President Biden has done in the last 6 months including the hunter Biden unregistered foreign agent violations that's being investigated right now, president Trump would have been impeached and it would have been a conviction. He would have been out of office. The Dilemma is that if President Biden is made to resign, we know that stupid Kamala Harris will become the first female president and like President ford, pardon President Biden.

This is sad from for my president who thinks that his son Beau died in Iraq and also earned the Bronze Star.

Number 46 is using levity and humor as a bag of tricks.

One thing I have learned: No matter where you live, politicians are all the same - once elected they forget those who sent them to serve the people, they then become the masters. I currently live in Denmark, same here. What needs to happen is a Convention of States and then "We the People" can put Congress in their place and tell them what needs to be done. No offense, am not sure what speech you saw. There were not many standing Os by the GOP, and too many by Dems. The President spoke better than he has recently, he was mostly coherent with a couple of random errors which are common to anyone of any age. Sadly he did miss a key name when introducing one of his success stories about everyday citizens.

It was eloquent at times, while he sadly again takes credit and applies blame out of convenience. So I give him a D+.

The GOP response was given by the right person politically. She did a great job up front focusing mostly on GOP common speak, but I believe in the end there was too much Woke. I hate overly amplified changes I our society, I hate when changes to our government and society are simply discussed and thrust. I have not seen enough bipartisanship to reflect anything closely matching society, Right or Left.

Let’s get our crap together and place this country back on top. Let’s ensure that we stop looking toward Europe as our example and believing we have to take on every global structure change with open arms. Defend Democracy and the rights of all one’s rights should not push aside another’s.

I only watch short clips but it would seem that most of the people thought it was a good speech. Extreme right wing people found issues with some of what was said but people who actually want the country to do well, were pleased. Telling the American people what has been accomplished is very important but for the naysayers, gas production in the US was sold during the last administration, as was many other high cost industries. We stop mining of many things in the US because it leads to illness and death, which doesn't make the nation stronger. I am on the fence overall - the tax breaks for the bulk of America have been reduced to a ridiculous amount and some places in the US are still getting gouged on internet/utilities; we also need the income level definitions altered to reflect current costs. We can always do better...

Sure he applauded plus he didn't tear up the speech right behind the Presidents head like the last speaker was praised for. Actually no, Democrats received approximately 718 thousand last year from Pfizer and Republicans around 475 thousand. But that's just the money they allowed to be made public I'd bet contributions were at least five fold to that behind closed doors. Seems like Pfizer owns both parties. I wish I was backed by oil companies I might get a break of fuel. So we went from being an exporter of fuels to an importer, buying fuel from out adversaries?! Rumor has it our strategic reserves will be depleted in 300 days or so which I hope turns out to be a lie.

Of course they were angry. Anyone with an inkling to research can find past congressional speech's of the current president declaring higher taxes on Social Security and I haven't in my life seen talk about removing it. Do some research for yourself so you can see all of 45's executive orders that were reversed. You might be surprised

They borrowed over twice our DGP in 2yrs and people are blaming 45 for the coming recession that's hilarious. As a result look at interest rates, they said they wouldn't raise them... No he wants to raise long term capitals to nearly 40% where they were at the 20% set by 45. He wanted to go lower but he couldn't do it without a vote from congress. Now the current administration wants to raise corporate tax to 28% up from 21, and it will now be higher than Communists China's 25% imagine that? Who dropped it to 21% from the Obama 39% hike? Doesn't matter they'll just continue to use overseas slave labor and end more jobs at home. I remember certain members of congress and a former President talking about a flat tax? 14% across the board and ending all loopholes and corporate welfare. Imagine that we would be done with this Marxism spanning over 100yrs.
Congress not working together is a clear picture of representative government elected by citizens of a free Republic. Unlike that of a Democracy / Mob Rule.

Better to read the transcript after the fact to determine what really matters versus the false bravado many of these leaders demonstrate. Few of them have the real capability to communicate effectively in a prime-time speech.
