What was the longest you waited following a convoy briefing before moving?

I have waited 8-10 hours before getting the safety brief let alone the actual convoy brief. As a Commo NCO I spent this time going back over everything with the TC's with call signs and check points.

SFC Private RallyPoint Member At NTC; long enough for EENT to occur, long enough for the drivers, TCs and everyone else to relax before having Goldstone ruin your night vision, then a short pause, which allowed drivers and TCs to fall asleep thereby totally destroying the 8 mile long convoy's progress! That was a long night movement.

Maybe 4 hours, but I want to say 3. We would usually prep the night before, come back the following morning, do a safety check and school circle and off we went. If we didn't know it by then, we were jacked up. This was with several CAX's, ship embarkments/debarkments, etc.

Capt Mark Strobl does that match your experience?

I'm guessing it was just the size of our units and our individual SOP...but we NEVER waited long between the brief and the roll. Then again, is that an RCP? In that case, I suppose you're waiting on everyone else to get ready too.

NTC, 2012. Got the convoy brief and lined up at 0430, started movement to the RUBA at 1545.
Got to watch 4/2 Stryker walk the desert looking for NVGs.

Saw the sun come up and go down waiting to cross into Iraq. Got tired of looking at that stupid sign that said IRAQ PAST THIS POINT.
