What types of legislation's the new administration could focus on to help veterans transition out of service into good jobs?

Is there a certain piece of legislation you are referring to? Some more information would make this post a lot stronger and could really be a great discussion.

I am not legal beagle person by any means but here are my two cents. I have never, ever, been for legislation that is for hiring anyone based on their ethnic background, skin color, sex, religion, or even military service. I have seen too many companies forced into meeting hiring quotas to say they met hiring quotas only to find out the person really wasn't qualified for the job, then they have to demote or fire that individual and start over. What I would like to see is something that everyone is equal across the board with qualifications and if, only if, things are equal the delineating factor is military service then they get something (tax breaks etc) for hiring that veteran. Problem is, that I don't know or wouldn't have a clue as to how to legislate that without excluding some companies.

Another issue is that when you leave military service, what is a good job? Some people think that because they served they have earned a spot at the top...doesn't work that way. Most times you are starting over and a decent job, turns into an ok job, and that after a few years turns into a really good job. We need to educate veterans that you will more than likely be starting over but with the same hard work, determination, and work ethic you put forth in the military, you will be successful in the civilian sector.
