It depends on the situation. If it was homosexual acts by omission (that is you said you were gay) then depending on your record, assuming no ART 15s and the like then it was an honorable discharge with a RE code of 3. So it all depends on the situation that occurred around your discharge. I am free to go to the VA have my DD214 changed to remove &quot;homosexual acts (by omission)&quot; and my RE code however, since the policy is changed what does it matter? I came back in after a 10 year break in service without an issue.
