It could always have been better.... March 20, 2019 I stood on the Battlefield where so many were lost 52 years earlier at the Battle of Soui Tre, stood there with the younger brother of one of my men lost, a soldier who fought against us in the battle, now a retired Colonel. and another family who lost a brother who fought against us... Two Veterans of a battle once enemies now friends, and two families who lost one dear to them... A great healing moment for 2019, disappointment that my personal project to create a Memorial park and Sanctuary retreat in the Memory of those lost at the Battle of Soui Tre... The ongoing projects and counseling to deal with the past and the future still bring hope of better times ahead... All in all it was a good year, and the work continues....

My 2019 was one of the worst years in my life.
My Son Joseph Nathanael Thomas was murdered on Easter Sunday. He went to visit an alleged FRIEND to share the good news of the Gospel.
This man dosed Joe with fentinol. Joe's last Easter text was sent at 4:45 Monday morning and our other Son found him in the bathroom at 5.
Joe's birthday was the last day of the year. He's a Martyr now. It's hard to lose a child. Then I consider my own Military Service. Right there, ready to preserve the liberty for any one else in the world that we have in the USA.
Being ready to go and give my life. I expect it from people who are like minded. I never really considered this about Joe until I started writing this. Maybe he did learn something important from me.
