I am perfectly happy with my friends who ply a different religion or political ideology so long as they keep it to themselves. Sadly, those on the Left are like Jehovah's Witnesses. They aren't happy unless I join them and will keep badgering me until I do. That's where friendships become strained.

If they're a true friend/Brother/Sister, we argue our points, don't change each others minds (sounds like arguing politics with a person of a different party than you so far), but then we drink beer and talk smack about other people (here's where being a vet makes all the difference).

Well politics happens to be the most divisive subject in the Country, so that's what I voted for. On a personal level, I have only lost 2 friends. 1 friend wouldn't support my choice in a partner and basically said he couldn't be a part of my life as long as she was going to stay in my life. My 2nd friend believes my people are oppressing his people and then he started calling out for the extermination of the white man.

So for me, women and racist rhetoric caused the worst disagreements in my life.

I would have to say politics and religion. People assume that just because you don't work that automatically means your Democrat whenever someones assume your a Christian they assume your Republican. Too many people are deep into their parties to actually see what's in front of them. Religion would also be a deciding factor I've had people call me supporter of terrorism just because I don't judge all Muslims by the acts of a few. I am LGBT many friends turned their backs on me some actually want to hurt me just because their God doesn't agree with my lifestyle.
