CWO4 Private RallyPoint Member at my current station, we work until 1800 (at least) everyday except Sunday. Their motto here seems to be more like Mission first, always and nothing else! Unfortunately, it's not very realistic nor should it apply to everyone...

I'll answer in two phases:

When on active duty onboard ship: Ans: It's friday? Really? Last I heard it was tuesday morning? Oh...it's friday nite? Who knew?

Since retired: Ans: It's friday AGAIN? Didn't we just have friday....like yesterday?

Fridays after safety briefing, as I remember on active duty.

Unit policy is 1500, i like that because it slows things down and my office can normally get out before 1800 on fridays, not by much but it is nice to leave early.

Before we deployed we were averaging about 1530. Our afternoons looked like this

1200-1300- Lunch
1300-1400- Oak tree counselings/last minute prep for next week company clean up.
1400-1430-Company safety brief
1500-1520-Battalion awards and safety brief
1520-1530-last minute finish up duty.
