What time can I start working with a NG recuiter? Going AD to NG.

The rules have probably changed since I left active duty. My unit retention NCO gave me the option to re-enlist straight into the national guard when I was in my window. You may have to ask him directly. Other than that, the earliest would be 365 days out with a NG recruiter.

If I was you I would start talking to your hometown Guard Recruiter ASAP or within 90 days of your ETS.

About 6 months out from ETS. My son just did that & signed a contract for his position in the ARNG - the only unit in the country (Army RCs) that have his MOS. He's at Ft. Carson & is joining the TX ARNG.
