What suggestions do you have for a Marine Corp combat veteran who wants to go active duty Army?

Contact a recreutier. You’ll go under prior service business rules (recruiter explains) and is taken from there!!!!

The Prior Service Business Rules acts as a guide for Soldiers who are interested in reenlisting in the regular Army.

Just realize that once you join the Army, you're a Soldier and not a Marine and need to adjust to the Army way of life.

LCpl Fabrice Fortune - Allow me to add to what SGT Christopher Hayden just stated. If, as a former Marine, discipline and military bearing are important to you, consider a Combat Arms MOS. While it's not a universal rule, Army Combat Arms tend to be a lot tighter on discipline and military bearing than you will usually find in soft-skill jobs. As I see from the profile picture, SGT Hayden, you were once a Grunt; would you concur?

Speak to your local recruiter. I had the same issue, well kind of. I got out of the Marines March 2016 and hopped to the Army October 2017... it is a great branch with a lot of opportunity for advancement. What I will tell (not totally sure) is that if you reach your 5 year mark of break in service you would have to go to basic, but if you’re at 4 you should be good bro. Semper Fi and best of luck man !

I have no idea man.... my entry in the Army was kind of out of spite... I walked thinking they were gonna tell me to walk because they didn’t take prior service into active duty like they had told me when I got out, but to my surprise they told me I could, so I thought to myself “well, I’m not gonna wait, I miss this stuff too much to not take this chance” LCpl Fabrice Fortune
