What should I put in a Warrant Officer Resume, given that I have little time in the Army and I haven't been to any schools? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-should-i-put-in-a-warrant-officer-resume-given-that-i-have-little-time-in-the-army-and-i-haven-t-been-to-any-schools <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been in the Army for nearly 2 years, I have not been to any schools and my current rank is PFC will be promoted soon. I am one of my Company&#39;s ACE suicide intervention representatives. I have also assisted my unit in moving $4.35 million in equipment overseas. I am applying to become a 153A - Rotary Wing Aviator. I am nearly complete with my packet minus a few administrative things and my Letters of Recommendation. I am trying to put my packet in for the May board. Any information would be amazing. A side note I worked aviation before the military, but it is the military experience side I am having trouble with. Thank You. Do you have a Warrant Officer you work with and has seen your work? Get them to draft a letter for you. In most Warrant Officer career fields experience is paramount. As a rotary wing Warrant youth is on your side. Focus on want you can bring to the Corps (i.e. drive, determination, and work ethics) more than what you’ve done. Best of luck to you. Just a quick note, I think you have to be an NCO before you can drop a warrant officer packet. I had a SGT putting one together before he PCS&#39;d. I have another soldier looking at trying to put a packet together but he couldn&#39;t because he wasn&#39;t an NCO. I don&#39;t know if you were told different but I would look into it just in case. If it&#39;s true, just keep going and be the best soldier you can be to make yourself competitive when the time comes that you are eligible. However, the last page of the resume is where you write your statement on why you should become the Army&#39;s newest Aviator/WO. That is your time to shine. Also, start getting to know some aviators. Even if they aren&#39;t the ones writing your LORs, its a small Army; you might run into one once you get commissioned and the WO world takes care of their own. Get your NCO to assist you with the best job description as it pertains to your current type of unit. Happy New Year and Good Luck to you! 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 01 Jan 2018 06:50:53 -0500 2018-01-01T06:50:53-05:00 Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 3 at 2018 5:00 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-should-i-put-in-a-warrant-officer-resume-given-that-i-have-little-time-in-the-army-and-i-haven-t-been-to-any-schools?n=3223239&urlhash=3223239 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Don’t let lack of military experience keep you from submitting a packet. I’ve worked with several “street to seat” pilots, granted they did have civilian aviation experience. Make sure you include your civilian aviation experience in your packet. As others have said in this post, don’t worry too much about your lack of military experience. Focus on what you do have, and showcase that instead. How you present yourself to the board, as well as how much effort is put into the accuracy of your packet can pay dividends. Leadership ability is a highly sought after character trait. If you can prove to the board that you are a competent soldier with the ability to learn and lead, then you shouldn’t have any issues. Now is the time to submit your packet due to a high demand for Aviators. Also worth mentioning, you can submit more than the required minimum of LORS. The first year I submitted, I only did minimum. The second year I reapplied I had two CW4’s and a CW5 who wrote LORS for me vouching for my abilities. It doesn’t hurt to have more people fight for your case. I would also highly recommend calling the Warrant Officer recruiters. They are more than willling to assist in this process and may even double check your packet for errors before you officially submit. But above all, don’t stop applying. If this is what you really want then do whatever it takes. Even if you don’t get selected the first time keep on applying until you do. Don’t take no for an answer. No one cares about your packet or future more than you do. As Mr. Rios mentioned, Warrant Officer Recruiters will be a big help. And with letters of recommendation, more rank helps. It also helps if they are AV officers, in your case. <br />I wish you luck!
