Problems found there will inevitably be found on the installation. Hopefully since military members are better trained, take more pride in themselves, and adhere to higher standards, many of those problems are small in number compared to the civilian population. The biggest issues I saw while in uniform were the issues that always seem to occur any time you put males and females in close quarters for extended periods of time. I would like to thing that all soldiers have enough common sense to avoid criminal acts, but we know that it isn't true. You have criminals at all ranks but as a general rule I saw less on base than off. Most criminal acts when I lived on base were from dependents who for some reason figured they could get away with the same acts they tried off post. The helicopters chasing one felon or another often woke us up in the middle of the night. We moved into Carswell AFB base housing to get away from it. It wasn't perfect, but it was 80-90% better. The camaraderie within the neighborhood was so great...we knew each other and watched out for each other, and kept each others' families safe.
