The distance between my front door and the pub, because I'm lazy and beer tastes good.

LCDR (Join to see), you beat me to it. Great answer.
I do get cardio, but running is my last choice.

I prefer to swim, personally. My real answer is 2-3 miles. I can run quick for short distances, or plod along for long distances, but I absolutely suck at trying to find a legitimate pace for good speed and efficiency above 3.

26.2! I like the marathon because it starts to suck a little at mile 20, and then you feel like a world conqueror when you cross that finish line.

LCDR (Join to see) believe it or not, the adrenaline of "starting" the race is just starting to wear off at mile 2. Mile 20 is wear the wall typically hits for most people. Your body is out of glycogen, so you start burning fat, and your brain is figuratively screaming "you're going to die" to you from that point forward.
Although Marathons have a physical aspect, they are a mental sport, since your are really fighting your brain's overwhelming desire to just stop because "the bus is right there. We don't have to do this. See that coffee shop, they have bagels! Wouldn't a bagel be great right now!" Now imagine listening to your subconscious do that for about 6-8 miles (mine starts screaming around mile 18~).
