I just sit on the front porch and essentially have an hours-long improv session with the kids and their parents. I love it and everyone seems to have a pretty good time, lots of laughs from the kids and parents. It's all in good spirits of course, I don't make fun to where it could hurt someone's feelings. For instance one year a tween was dressed as a Pink Lady, I asked if she was Sandra Dee and she blank stared at me, I said yanno from the movie Grease, your costume? She said she'd never seen the movie, so I called out to the street to find her parents and told them next time they make their daughter dress as one of their childhood memories to at least make her watch the movie first. Poor thing didn't even know what she dressed as... I gave her extra candy and told her from now on if anyone asks just say Sandra Dee.Response by SGT Ryan Moradi made Oct 19 at 2022 8:11 PM2022-10-19T20:11:37-04:002022-10-19T20:11:37-04:00SSgt Amanda Smith7939836<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Carving pumpkins and going to the pumpkin patch and corn maze!Response by SSgt Amanda Smith made Oct 19 at 2022 8:16 PM2022-10-19T20:16:01-04:002022-10-19T20:16:01-04:00A1C Darvis Wanton7939844<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Spooky events such as corn mazes, haunted houses and ghost towns. Years ago while living in Rota, Spain, I needed to prepare a quick yet hearty dish for the kids before the started their Halloween activities. As I was cooking, I noticed that I did not have egg noodles for my soup so I substituted pastina. As soon as I place the bowls of soup in front the kids they yelled, “You made spider eye soup?” I immediately said, “Happy Halloween! Lightly haunted grainery with trick or treating for the little ones & haunted house for the older kids. The parents or other adults doing the scares! It was a lot of work but all had so much fun and it was free for the community.Response by CPO Deborah Krieger made Oct 27 at 2022 8:16 AM2022-10-27T08:16:50-04:002022-10-27T08:16:50-04:00A1C John Hansen7952179<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Giving out candy to the kids who trick or treat in the neighborhood.Response by A1C John Hansen made Oct 27 at 2022 8:34 AM2022-10-27T08:34:30-04:002022-10-27T08:34:30-04:00SPC Garry Aernouts7952202<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Handing out candy to the neighborhood kids and seeing their creative costumes.Response by SPC Garry Aernouts made Oct 27 at 2022 9:05 AM2022-10-27T09:05:28-04:002022-10-27T09:05:28-04:00Sgt Christyna Quintero7952283<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The school Halloween party Response by Sgt Christyna Quintero made Oct 27 at 2022 9:30 AM2022-10-27T09:30:42-04:002022-10-27T09:30:42-04:00PO2 Mary Harden7952328<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I haven't been into it for a while.Response by PO2 Mary Harden made Oct 27 at 2022 9:52 AM2022-10-27T09:52:04-04:002022-10-27T09:52:04-04:00LTC Richard Oliver7952362<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Our community has an annual fall festival with wholesome activities and games for the kids.Response by LTC Richard Oliver made Oct 27 at 2022 10:07 AM2022-10-27T10:07:44-04:002022-10-27T10:07:44-04:00PO2 Michelle Allen7952392<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Carving the pumpkins over warm apple cider.Response by PO2 Michelle Allen made Oct 27 at 2022 10:29 AM2022-10-27T10:29:53-04:002022-10-27T10:29:53-04:00SN Arika Manapat7952394<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My favorite halloween tradition is decorating our home. They would take my younger brother and older sister to a family friend's farm where we would all pick a pumpkin which we would take back to Papa and Nana's house where we would scoop out the pumpkins. Nana would take the mess we made and roast the seeds and use the stringy/slimy guts for puree which she would use for all kinds of things. Of course, we kids would have a challenge as to who could carve the best/scariest pumpkin. Nana always made sure we got some smaller sweeter pumpkins so that she could make her (world-famous) pumpkin pie. YumYum Life seemed so much more simple and peaceful 60+ years ago. I miss those days.Response by PFC Calvin VanSlyke made Oct 31 at 2022 7:26 AM2022-10-31T07:26:07-04:002022-10-31T07:26:07-04:00Cpl Mautrice Donald7958242<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Going to see a good scary movie at the movies with the family and having hot buttered movie popcorn.Response by Cpl Mautrice Donald made Oct 31 at 2022 8:01 AM2022-10-31T08:01:58-04:002022-10-31T08:01:58-04:00SPC Crysteana Moses7958279<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Picking a family costume!Response by SPC Crysteana Moses made Oct 31 at 2022 8:52 AM2022-10-31T08:52:00-04:002022-10-31T08:52:00-04:00Cpl Chioke Bush7958447<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Taking the kids trick or treating and handing out candy to the little ones in our neighborhood!Response by Cpl Chioke Bush made Oct 31 at 2022 11:15 AM2022-10-31T11:15:42-04:002022-10-31T11:15:42-04:00PV2 Gene Short7958477<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Put up a pinata and let the kids go wild.Response by PV2 Gene Short made Oct 31 at 2022 11:54 AM2022-10-31T11:54:01-04:002022-10-31T11:54:01-04:00RallyPoint News7958536<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Congratulations to <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1891804" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1891804-tsgt-daryl-shoben">TSgt Daryl Shoben</a>, <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1936666" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1936666-geoffrey-wells">SPC Geoffrey Wells</a>, <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1929635" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1929635-lori-maver">SSgt Lori Maver</a>, <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1937089" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1937089-zee-salinas">Cpl Zee Salinas</a>, and <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1936816" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1936816-cpl-keith-milligan">Cpl Keith Milligan</a>. Imagination and finding the right clothing bits make it a lot of fun and then to see what we create after all that is the best. And then driving over to friends' houses to surprise them is the next step. We always laugh so hard with the surprises.Response by PO2 Mike Langworthy made Nov 2 at 2022 5:41 PM2022-11-02T17:41:25-04:002022-11-02T17:41:25-04:00HN Cameron Hufault7974125<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Eating resesResponse by HN Cameron Hufault made Nov 10 at 2022 7:03 AM2022-11-10T07:03:02-05:002022-11-10T07:03:02-05:00SPC Kevin Johnson7982081<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Dressing upResponse by SPC Kevin Johnson made Nov 15 at 2022 2:38 AM2022-11-15T02:38:11-05:002022-11-15T02:38:11-05:00PV2 Sarah Parker8343508<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Bobbing for AppleResponse by PV2 Sarah Parker made Jun 26 at 2023 8:11 AM2023-06-26T08:11:14-04:002023-06-26T08:11:14-04:002022-10-17T13:00:21-04:00
