What's your biggest complaint with the transition process?

And would like your input as to what the biggest problem is or was during your transition.

Not getting a good brief about what programs the VA has to offer. Unless you talk to the right person you might never know what is available...

Well when I separated in June of this year, I think the biggest road block his establishing yourself within the civilian sector as a professional and as an individual, until I really had to budget more accurately and forget that the military provided allot that I took for granted, I think an emphasis on a certain number of Saving's would be a good thing and then how to market your skills both directly learned through your military career field and those you acquired via the years of training. The VA part is also something that needs improvement as far as the claim process etc and what to realistically expect. I've posted on this before, I've thought all branches should take a more individual approach for someone retiring or separating that is over 6 months of time from their release, the way I look at it is the Government spent money to train you and condition you to be military they should do the same to make you a civilian.
