What's the worst experience you've had at a gun shop?

I'm stationed in Tucson, and the gun shops here are a serious joke. Staffed by over opinionated tacticool nerds carrying only 2,000 dollar guns, it seems that the firearms industry is dead in this town. Do you live in a place like this where you're better off ordering guns online?

Wet behind the ears kids trying to tell me about handguns.......when they aren't even old enough to own one. I have run into this twice.....in TEXAS of all places. Most of the shops I go to here are great.

Sorry to hear that. I grew up in Tucson, and it was a very different place 50 years ago.
Kentucky is still a good place for guns and gun shops.

I was teaching my wife to shoot a pistol and showed her the proper way to wrap her hands around the weapon, when I turned to reload a magazine, she had taken her thumb and slipped it to the other side of the grip and pulled the trigger, forcing the slide backward that sliced her hand into a bleeding mess, not a little, a lot, she still has the scar and has never shot a slide pistol again. She now uses a revolver named Sally! That was in the basement of the gun shop where I picked up my deployment pistol! A KIMBER .45.

The store owners being complete assholes to me for not knowing what all of their tacticool shit does "Are you sure you're in the military?". Like I'm 25N in a Reserve unit....come on.... lol

Wow. Sorry you've had a bad experience with your local shops. The establishments I frequent locally put function over appearance. You can get the $2000 guns but my dealers are just as happy selling you a $500 version that works just as well or better.

I had a Well read book educated gun sales man try to tell me about the problems with the 1911's M9's vs and the advantages of the Glocks...
So I took him to the Range next door and out shot him with both the M-9 and the 80 year old 1911 i was packing. ...

The clerk handing over an assault rifle and live ammo to some German guy to use on the range that has just admitted to the same clerk he has never fired an assault rifle before. Okaaayyyy, time to leave. :)

That the guy told me I was gonna shoot my foot off because the magazine fell to the ground, when the sig I was holding had a worn mag catch. tossed the pistol back at him and said fix this shit its broken.

I've bought a few Rifles and Shotguns in Tucson, but only from Sportsman's Warehouse off Thornydale, near Orange Grove Rd. Never had a problem with them trying to up sale me in fact they saved me money by talking me out of a Benelli Super Nova and into a Stoeger M3000.
