RP's thread about the 'Army SEAL' got me to thinking (and laughing!) about all the crazy things that are possible, so I thought it would be fun to come up with stuff! My personal favorite was 'Door gunner on a submarine.' But let's see what we can come up with, just for laughs.

Here's my True and Verified Job when I was a Navy Ranger (Honest!):

I was an M1A2 Gunner in an F-18!

This one space cadet (my metaphorical label for him, not the MOS he actually claimed) that I met at a video arcade in Long Beach, CA, in the span of about 2 mins, claimed to have been a Green Beret, a Marine sniper, and a demolitions expert. When I tried to call his bluff about specific postings, he copped out with "You name it, I've been there."

Judging by the look in his eyes, his body language, and the way he said it, he seemed so far gone mentally, i.e. in his own little world, that he honest-to-gosh truly believed that BS as opposed to maliciously lying.

In the (old) Corps our MOS designation was 4 digits. For instance: 2531 (Field Radio Operator). The MOS we bestowed on "that guy who got all the crap details" was 1369. Let's see who knows what that means...

There was a chapter case I once had to deal with who claimed he went to flame thrower leader course before being assigned to our unit.
I referred to soldiers who Bradley crew their entire careers and couldn’t name a dismount battle drill as 11k or 19b.
