I was TAD (TDY in Army/Air Force speak) to the ship's security detachment and we had to process him one night due to a custody turnover from Base Police. Regulation said that we treated everybody professionally and called them by rank. <br /><br />None of us could bring ourselves to say "Airman Mycock" so we called him by his first name. <br /><br />I was speaking with him a few months later and I asked him what kind of comebacks he had for when people made fun of his name. His go to? You read that right, Petty Officer Mickey Mouse.<br /><br />I was standing a security watch and checking ID's when I first met him. He showed me his ID and I of course did a double take.<br /><br />I actually had to "detain" him while I investigated further. It turned out to not be a joke, that was his real name.<br /><br />I talked to him a few months later and he was getting his first name legally changed to Michael.
